FAQ

Can you provide prescription refills and/or diagnose via phone consultation?

No. Phone consultations are a courtesy to our patients and assist our providers in determining when a home visit is appropriate, but we cannot diagnose, treat, or prescribe medications without examining your child.

If I choose to use insurance for my child’s home visit, how does that work?

You’ll be asked to provide your insurance information at the time of scheduling online. We take care of the rest! We will file the claim directly with your insurance company for you. The only cost you will be charged for at the time of the visit, is the convenience fee. This is not covered by insurance and is different from a co-pay. The convenience fee simply covers the time and travel of our providers. Convenience fee may vary based on your location.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Credit card, debit card, HSA/FSA debit card, and check. We do not accept cash.

I have insurance, but I still received a bill from Pediatric Housecalls. Why?

Depending on your insurance plan, you may have a deductible. As with any medical office visit, if you have not yet met your deductible for the year, you may receive a bill from us for some or all of the cost of the visit that is applied toward your deductible. Many times, it takes the insurance companies several months to process claims. It’s quite possible that you may receive a bill from us several months after the date of service, if you had not yet met your deductible at the time of service. Keep in mind that all insurance companies and plans are different. Some contracted rates for our services are more or less than others. Pediatric Housecalls does not set these rates. Your insurance company does. If you have a large deductible, and you find that the contracted rate with your insurance company is more than you’d like to pay, it may be more cost-efficient for you to choose the self-pay pricing.

Do you keep a record of my child’s visit?

Yes. We use a secure electronic medical record to document your child’s home visit. A copy of this visit can be forwarded to your child’s regular doctor, with your consent.

Do you have more information on vaccinations?

We want to empower parents to make educated decisions on the various vaccinations for their child – Click here for more links to resources

What are my options for paying for the convenience fee?

The IRS specifies that as long as a concierge fee is for services already provided (and not a retainer or membership fee paid prior to any care being given), then the fee can be paid for out of FSA or HSA pre-tax dollars. Because of this, our convenience fees are eligible to be paid using your FSA or HSA debit card. Please Email our billing admin team to let them know you’d like to use your FSA or HSA debit card for the convenience fees, and they will be happy to link that information to your account.
